Privacy Policy

What GenCraftory does with your information, in plain language.

This policy applies to GenCraftory (https://gencraftory.online), run by the operator of this site. The site has no accounts. It is built to keep as little about you as possible.

The short version

  • We don't ask you to sign up, and we don't ask for your name or email address to use a tool.
  • What you type, and any PDF you upload, is used to produce your result and is not saved to a database.
  • That text is sent to an AI provider so it can write the result.
  • The site uses one cookie it needs to work, and one setting stored in your browser for dark mode.
  • There is no advertising and no analytics on the site at the moment.

Information we process, and why

Text you enter

When you use a tool, the answers in the form are combined into instructions and sent to an AI provider, which returns the result. We process the text only to do this. The provider is OpenAI or Google (Gemini), depending on how the site is set up.

PDF files and chat questions

When you upload a PDF, the site reads the text in it, in memory, while your request is handled. The file itself is not saved. For Chat with PDF, the extracted text stays in your browser page, and it is sent to the AI provider together with each question you ask, so the answer can be based on the document. Refreshing the page clears the chat. A PDF can contain personal or confidential details, so please upload only documents you are comfortable having processed this way.

Recent answers

To avoid paying twice for the same request, the site may keep a generated answer for about 10 minutes, so that an identical request in that time gets the same answer. It is stored under a scrambled key made from the request, not under your name, and it is not linked to you. It is then deleted automatically.

Technical logs

The server records a log line for each request: the time, the page address, the response status, how long it took, and a random request code. Logs do not contain the text you entered, your PDFs, your questions or the answers. Passwords and API keys are masked if they ever appear in an error. The hosting provider or a network service in front of the site may also record visitors' IP addresses as part of running the service.

Rate limiting

To stop abuse and keep the service free, we count how many requests come from each IP address, for short periods (a minute and a day). The counters are held temporarily and are used for nothing else.

Cookies and similar storage

Both are needed for the site to work as you expect, so they don't ask for consent. We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising.

Who else receives your information

  • AI providers. OpenAI or Google receives the text needed to produce your result. They handle it under their own terms and privacy policies, which say how long they keep it and what they use it for. We can't control that, so please read them if you are unsure.
  • Hosting and network services. The companies that run the servers and deliver the site to you necessarily handle the traffic.

We don't sell your information. We don't use it to build profiles of you or to train AI models.

These services may be located in other countries, so your text can be processed outside the country where you live.

How long things are kept

  • Your text and PDFs: not kept by us after your result is produced.
  • Recent answers: about 10 minutes.
  • Rate-limit counters: a day at most.
  • Server logs: kept for a limited time for fixing problems and keeping the site secure, and they contain no content.

Your choices and rights

Because we don't hold an account or a profile for you, there is usually nothing to look up or delete. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what information a service holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it is used, or to complain to your data protection authority. You can write to us at any time using the details on the Contact page, and we will do what the law requires. You can clear the cookie and the stored setting at any time in your browser.

Please don't enter sensitive information, such as health details, identity or bank numbers, or passwords, into any tool.

Children

The site is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, for example by adding analytics or advertising, we will update this page before the change takes effect and change the date at the top.
